The Rising Sign of Aires

Aires is the first of twelve constellations or Rashis that each and every one of us is born under.  The rising sign, called Lagna in Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) is the sign on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth.  Vedic astrology is different than Western astrology which doesn’t use a rising sign but puts more emphasis on the Sun sign at birth. The rising sign is more of a foundation of your life.  It sets the tone for your personality from the very beginning of your life. You’ll find that Jyotish zeros in on who you really are as you read through the different rising signs.

Aires, which uses a ram as it’s symbol, can be just that, one who rams head first into things.  They tend to be very action oriented and one to complete their tasks.  You might even describe an Aires lagna, as very structured or even tunnel vision.

An Aires lagna may not be so patient and can’t understand why on earth everyone else can’t just get things done!  They are the ones who are always on time and have the ability to stay on task.  Definitely a fire sign when it comes to Ayurveda by the way!

They may be inclined as natural athletes and of course love competition.  They can be quite communicative but find themselves always having that edge of competition even in simple conversations.

Aires rising may show the propensity for a career in medicine depending on where there planet Mars is located in their chart, since Mars is known as a cutter (aka surgeon or doctor)  It’s more likely to happen if Mars is combined with Mercury in the 8th house.

Aires can create stubbornness when it comes to religion as well.   They like to dig their heels and try to convince everyone why should believe the same say.

Aires people love their families and tend to be sensitive too.  They love family legacies as well as beauty which is why they will often have a handsome/beautiful spouse.  They just really appreciate beauty!
